GRSP 2022

GRSP weekend resumed for 2022 following a two-year hiatus due to COVID. This year's event took place on April 8th and 9th and was a smashing success!

  • Friday morning's Rotary Club meeting featured our GRSP students as guests, and several students spoke about their experiences in the US this year.

  • Following the club meeting, students spent the morning at the Two Rivers Gun Range or kayaking on the St. Marys River. The students loved the gun range, and the kayaking trip was fun even though the high winds led us to cut the trip short.

  • Friday night's social was hosted by our assistant district governor, who threw a wonderful party! Students and Rotarians got better acquainted and enjoyed dinner catered by Chi-ago's Phat Smoke.

  • On Saturday, the high winds continued so we reluctantly canceled our traditional Cumberland Island trip. The students convened at a Rotarian's home and had a great time exploring St. Marys, swimming, and just enjoying each other's company.

  • Saturday night's social continued the fun, with Rotarians bringing food for one of our legendary pot-luck dinners. The party continued well into the night, with fellowship and food both in generous quantities.

The GRSP program exists to promote world peace by getting college students from all over the world to spend quality time with each other and with their fellow students and host families from the US. Our club is thrilled to be a small part of this ambitious project!
